In the last months i have received many questions around UHT. In this section i try to summarize the responses. Also, as the functionality of UHT continues to grow, its nice to have an area where the basics are explained. Use the search to filter the questions relevant to you!

Is Ultimate Holdem Timer really free?

UHT asks me to deactivate the ad blocker, why?

We stand to our promise: NO ADS AND TRACKERS on our site!

While this is 100% true, we use other tools (e.g., for error analytics) which some ad blockers falsely identify as ad or tracking services.

For the best experience with UHT, we recommend to deactivate the ad blocker for our site. In most cases, you can leave your ad blocker enbaled on UHT without problems!

Can UHT be used offline?

Why is Multi Monitors not working?

If you have trouble to connect another monitor to UHT, it can have multiple reasons:

Verify Network Connectivity
Ensure that both devices (notebook and desktop) can communicate over the network.

Ping Test:

From Computer 1 to Computer 2:

Windows: Open Command Prompt (Win + R, type cmd, press Enter).
macOS/Linux: Open Terminal.
Type: ping (e.g., ping 192.168.1.2) and press Enter.

From Computer 2 to Computer 1:

Repeat the above steps, replacing with the notebook's IP address.

Expected Result:

Successful replies indicate that both devices can see each other on the network.

If Ping Fails

Check IP Addresses: Ensure both devices are on the same subnet.
Network Isolation: Some routers have settings that isolate wireless devices from each other. Disable "AP Isolation" or similar settings in your router's configuration.
Temporary Firewall Disable: Temporarily disable firewalls on both devices to see if ping succeeds. If it does, adjust firewall settings accordingly.

Check Firewall Settings
Firewalls can block WebRTC connections. Ensure that the necessary ports and protocols are allowed.

Windows Firewall:

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall
Click "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall".
Ensure that your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox) is allowed for both Private and Public networks.

macOS Firewall:

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.
Click the lock icon to make changes.
Click "Firewall Options...".
Ensure your browser is allowed to accept incoming connections.

Third-Party Firewalls:

If you're using any third-party firewall or security software, refer to its documentation to allow your browser.

Router Firewall:

Some routers have built-in firewalls that might block peer-to-peer traffic. Check your router's settings and ensure that it's not blocking necessary traffic.

My tournament is behaving strange, what can I do?

When you find your tournament is not behaving as expected, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Reset the tournament:
It can happen that a tournament breaks (for whatever reason). If this happens you might see wrong calculations, buttons not responding to clicks or even the whole display UI not loading.
In these cases, go to the tournament overview page and click the orange reset button next to the affected tournament
Delete and recreate the tournament:
Some problems cannot be fixed by the reset. In these cases you will need to delete the tournament and recreate it.
Reset all Storage:
If nothing helps, reset UHT completely. To do so, goto the tournament overview and click on Manage Storage, then click on Delete All Data and confirm. UHT is now reset back to 0!
